One of my earliest deviations here at was a little sweater I knitted for a small teddy bear.
"Bayoh" is one of our favorite plushies. She has a personality which bears no resemblance to her outward appearance. (Bears. )
She gambles, smokes Cuban cigars (yes, they're illegal in the States, but Bayoh is rarely daunted by such minor details), and maintains several money-laundering 'legitimate businesses.'
Well, we've owned Bayoh (or, as she'd put it, she's blessed us with her presence) for over a decade and time and rough living had really taken a toll on her pretty little body.
So I decided it would be a good way for her to start the new year in a new body.
In the image above left, you can see the tattered remains of her former self.
I deconstructed this threadbare material verrrrry carefully, scanned it on my flatbed scanner and made new pattern pieces.
In the midst of sewing up the new parts, I made a fortunate error. I neglected to sew her arms into her torso. In finishing her up, I decided to make a modification and gave her jointed arms. Now she can be even more expressive...for example, in the picture at upper right wherein she's flipping off the paparazzi.
Hmm. Maybe that wasn't such a hot idea after all...
You're absolutely nuts, you know that, sistah deah? I mean, certifiable.
That aside, you're also crazily talented! Wow, to reconstruct a bear like that, what skill! I'm in awe. And though she may show no gratitude, I'm sure Bayoh is thrilled.

Interesting that you noted the fact that Bayoh, whilst living with us, has attitude. When she first came to live with us, she was just as sweet and innocent as any adorable little teddy bear.
Kinda makes you think, don't it?

Hello there! This news article is the result of a thumb share thread I posted few days ago on the dA forum along with pictures from my favorites. I hope you enjoy them.

Totally smitten.
*LatteBleu has sworn to prevent them from getting together.
I shudder to think of the havoc they'd wreak if they ever did spend time together.

(That's my very bestest therapist voice, I'll have you know.
And, thrilled or not, I think it's only going to make her more difficult to live with. And we'd not thought that possible.

Great job on the reconstruction!! It seems to have boosted her already inflated ego. Cute
