As my incredibly witty title would indicate (
 ), this is a miniature rope rug I made for my dollhouse.   I made it by knitting a 5.5-foot length of what is commonly known as an "idiot cord" (a term I loathe). I used the remnant of a skein of sock yarn--"fingerweight" wool/poly blend. I then hand-stitched the cord into an oval with thread. The back surface of the rug doesn't have the ridges in it, and my stitches are virtually invisible to the naked eye, but I think the ridged side looks more attractive and realistic. NOTE: While the color in the larger image shown is a tad "washed out," the inset photo is fairly accurate. If you'd like to see a more flattering image of the fainting couch pictured, you can see it here. (I redesigned it from a fairly yucky looking originally "plain" couch.) |

We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you  the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on.
